In addition to Pervasive.SQL, Tango 2000 supports third-party databases such as Oracle, Access and any ODBC-compliant database. But Tango 2000 also integrates with and complements other third-party tools to help you develop the Web site you desire. It integrates with Macromedia's Dreamweaver to help you build your WYSIWYG presentation logic. It works with Cybersource, Cybercash, ATS, iBank and other vendors to help you complete e-commerce transactions. And users of VisualStudio, VisualAge and CodeWarrior can use their Java and C++ compilers to develop components to work with Tango 2000. You can find everything you need to develop powerful Web-based applications in the software itself, but one of Tango 2000's strengths is how its capabilities can be extended by users.
As businesses grow and expand, the IT person eventually becomes the IT team. Growing Web sites tend to have multiple developers working on the site, so Tango 2000 provides the means to ease group development issues. Using Tango projects, you can centralize all aspects of your Web development - from the files, applications, data sources and objects to deployment sites, you can control them all from one central project location. Coupled with FTP deployment and integrated source control (another benefit of the XML format - text stores better in version control than binary files do), a group can develop and deploy Tango applications working as a cohesive unit. In addition, the XML DOM allows further abstraction of the business logic (if x, then do y) from the presentation logic (how the pages render on screen). This separation is useful in environments in which one team works on business logic and another on the graphical logic.
Tango 2000 contains many features to take you where you want to go. The use of standards such as FTP and XML, support for code reuse (TCFs, objects), facilities for group development and deployment, and full-featured, useful solutions right out of the box all work together to make Tango 2000 a good choice for developing your organization's Web site.
